Toddler Summer Camp

Parkdale Montessori School hosts a Toddler summer camp which includes a variety of activities to provide toddlers with a fun environment during the summer! There are no formal Montessori lessons. Each week, toddlers explore a different theme and all activities are related to that specific theme.

General activities each week:

  • Weekly theme (such as colours, transportation, the ocean, jungle animals, barnyard friends, etc.)
  • Crafts (including painting, pasting, collages, etc…)
  • Songs, books, music and movement
  • Indoor toys and fun activities (such as lego, puzzles, playdoh, replicas, etc.)
  • Outdoor games (soccer balls, basketball and small net, vehicles, sand toys, etc.)
  • Water activities (spray bottles, sprinkler, bubbles, water tables, etc.)
  • Morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack
  • Toileting and Nap

Schedule:

The toddler camp runs for seven weeks during the summer. The hours of operation are 8:45 am to 3:15 pm with an option of extended care from 8:15 to 8:45 am and 3:15 to 5:00 pm.

The program is available on a per-week basis to allow families greater flexibility in their summer scheduling.

Requirements:

To participate in this summer program, toddlers must be able to walk independently, take only one nap per day, and feed themselves using a spoon or fork.

Important Notes:

  • There is no camp on Canada Day and the week of the Civic holiday. There is no aftercare on the last day of camp as our staff needs to clean and reset the toddler environment.
  • Snacks (twice a day), hot lunches and milk are included.
  • To qualify for the up-front payment plan, all payments have to be made by March 31st. After this date, weekly payments must be dated the Monday of each week your child attends summer camp.
  • Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable as we hire staff based on registration.

Casa Summer Camp

Parkdale Montessori School hosts a bilingual Casa camp which includes a variety of activities to provide children with a fun environment during the summer! There are no formal Montessori lessons. Each week, children explore a different theme and all activities are related to that specific theme.

General activities each week:

  • Bilingual program: French and English
  • Weekly theme (such as: dinosaurs,at the beach, on a jungle safari, etc.)
  • A special guest each week (such as Little Ray’s Reptiles, Mad Science, Monkey Rock, Little Kickers, K2 Martial Arts, etc.)
  • Mask-making, face painting, crafts
  • Scientific experiment
  • Baking and sharing with the family!
  • Songs, music and movement, and books
  • Indoor toys and fun activities
  • Outdoor games
  • Sport and water activities
  • Outings to Reid park, wading pool and nature walks

Schedule:

The casa camp runs between four and six weeks in the summer. The hours of operation are 8:30 am to 3:30 pm with an option of extended care from 8:00 to 8:30 am and 3:30 to 5:00 pm.

Requirements:

To participate in this summer program, casa children must be fully toilet-trained (i.e. able to independently use the toilet, wipe, wash hands).
